Philip Sen

BNHRC Manager

Philip Sen is the NSW Bushfire and Natural Hazards Research Centre Manager, responsible for the day-to-day running of the consortium and its research program. Formerly a technology journalist, in 2008 he joined the United Nations in Bonn, Germany, as a communications associate and in 2012 was posted to the United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He remained in Cambodia to support non-profit organisations such as UNICEF, Oxfam and ActionAid, mainly focused on water, environmental and disaster risk reduction issues. He moved to Australia in 2016 and has worked at NGOs such as Greenpeace, Vinnies, Médecins Sans Frontières and Habitat for Humanity.
